TST, the logistics company based in Worms, presented an innovative concept for a cooperative depot charging network for electric trucks at the “Transport Logistic” trade fair in Munich. This network will enable freight forwarders to share charging infrastructure or provide their own charging points. The aim is to establish a digital platform that offers efficient networking, transparent charging prices and standardized invoicing. The development of this digital infrastructure should be completed by fall 2025.
TST’s cooperative approach responds to the existing challenges in the area of charging infrastructure for electric trucks. There is often a lack of suitable charging points that meet the special requirements of truck traffic, such as sufficient vehicle height, turning circle and integration of renewable energies. In addition, digital services such as reservation systems and fleet billing systems are often not available in the truck segment. TST is therefore striving to achieve higher utilization of the charging infrastructure through cooperation rather than competition, while at the same time increasing profitability for all parties involved.
Eight partners are already using TST’s charging infrastructure. The company emphasizes that its charging infrastructure is open to everyone and sees itself as a pioneer in the industry. With this step, TST is pursuing the goal of advancing electromobility in road freight transport and making a contribution to the energy transition.
