Digital showcase - kick-off event

Discover and shape the innovation alliances of the Southwest with Ecoliance Digital Showcases! The kick-off event offers an initial overview of the individual alliances and opportunities for participation. The alliances were launched by 3 universities in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland and are intended to drive change through innovation in structurally weak regions. Waster2Value is an alliance of Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences in the field of material flows and in particular the recycling of waste and by-products. GRIHSU is an alliance of the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld and htw saar in the field of green business models through green innovation products and processes. And Digital.bewegt.Nahe is an alliance of the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld in the field of efficiency in production/warehousing/distribution through IT systems.

Digital showcase “Waste to value - microorganisms are changing the Western Palatinate”

The “Waste to Value” (W2V) project presents itself as part of the digital showcase of Ecoliance Rheinland-Pfalz e.V.

The aim of the W2V alliance is to combine traditional expertise from the shoe and textile industries in areas such as adhesives and sealants, plastics and composites with white biotechnology technologies based on the use of microorganisms, which have been established at various research institutions in the region in recent years.

Digital showcase “GRIHSU - The innovation alliance for the green transformation”

The “Green-Innovation-Hub Südwest” (GRIHSU) project presents itself as part of the digital showcase of Ecoliance Rheinland-Pfalz e.V.

The aim of the GRIHSU alliance is to secure employment and growth in the manufacturing industry in the alliance region through socially accepted climate and resource neutrality in production and logistics. With the support of the universities, manufacturing companies in the structurally weak application regions of Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate can take on the upcoming challenges posed by climate change at an early stage. In this way, they can benefit from the new business potential of a “green transformation”. The quality of life in the region should also be significantly improved through comprehensive environmental protection.

Digital showcase digital.bewegt.nah

The “digital.bewegt.nah” project will be presented as part of the digital showcase of Ecoliance Rheinland-Pfalz e.V.

The aim of the digital.bewegt.nahe alliance is to exploit potential savings along the entire logistics chain through digital infrastructure, AI solutions, specialist personnel and cooperation. The Internet of Things (IoT) plays a major role in logistics. Alliance partner Kentix (K) in particular is contributing its expertise in sensor, communication and locking technology to the alliance. The control of transport orders and data processing offer particularly high savings potential. Thanks to third-party funding totaling €3.2 million, the Birkenfeld Environmental Campus can already demonstrate numerous AI solutions. Existing staff can master the digital transformation through individually tailored training formats for digitalization. Training courses and a real-world laboratory are therefore an integral part of the alliance. With its experience in innovation management and the development of new business models, BITO-CAMPUS ensures the long-term existence of the alliance. Sharing ideas, learning from each other and joint developments help to make the region’s companies fit for the future.
